TK Maxx hosted a charity golf day on 16 April 2026 at Greenway Hall Golf Club in support of Comic Relief, bringing together 22 teams (88 players) for a shotgun start and a full day of golf, competitions, and fundraising.
The event, supported by Don-Bur, combined a traditional round of golf with a range of on-course challenges and activities, creating a relaxed but competitive atmosphere throughout the day before finishing with an evening reception and prize presentation.
£34,271 Raised for Comic Relief
By the end of the day, a total of £34,271 had been raised, exceeding the original £30,000 target. Contributions came from team participation, sponsorship, competitions, and fundraising activities running across both the course and the evening event.
On-Course Challenges and Competitions
Alongside the main round, a number of challenges were set up across the course to keep things competitive and add a bit of variety:
- Hole 19 – Trackman closest to the pin challenge
- Hole 20 – Putting competition
- Two additional closest to the pin competitions
- Two longest drive challenges
There was also a more light-hearted element, with 18 Winnie the Pooh toy characters hidden around the course. Teams that managed to find and collect them picked up additional points towards their overall scores.
The mix of competitive and informal challenges kept all teams engaged throughout the round.
Evening Reception and Fundraising
The day finished at The Fairway, a purpose-built event hall within Greenway Hall Golf Club, where teams sat down to a two-course meal organised by Don-Bur before the evening fundraising and prize presentations got underway.
Additional contributions during the evening helped push the final total beyond the initial target.
Event Delivery
Don-Bur supported the delivery of the event throughout the day, including course setup, event signage and graphics, scoring coordination, and overall event management.
