First Don-Bur Teardrop rigid curtainsider joins DHL fleet

news/aerodynamics

DHL has taken delivery of the first Don-Bur 'Teardrop' rigid curtainsider body. Mounted on a DAF CF65.220 chassis, the aerodynamic 22-foooter will be used by DHL on its regular contract with Rank Hovis, which involves delivering pallets of bagged flour.

DHL already has plenty of experience with 'Teardrop-style' bodywork, having taken the first box and curtainsider trailer versions, as well as the first rigid body, too. The logistics giant is looking for an 8-10% fuel-saving with the Teardrop-bodied DAF, which will be tested over the next eight weeks.
