3D Render Rigid Box Van In Showroom

Rigid Box Vans

Rigid Box Vans provide a secure, enclosed load space mounted to a truck chassis for secondary distribution and urban delivery. Typically rear-loaded at bays or via tail-lifts, the rigid-sided structure delivers durability, load security and consistent internal dimensions suited to palletised and mixed freight.

Bodywork is engineered for free-issue truck chassis from approximately 7.5 to 32 tonnes. Layout, equipment and materials are specified around payload type, handling method and operational duty cycle. Tail-lifts, rear closures, insulated constructions and weight-optimised components can be integrated as required.

Typical Applications

  • Rear-only loading at depots and RDCs
  • Parcel, pallet and mixed freight distribution
  • Urban and regional multi-drop operations
  • Temperature-sensitive or protected goods

Build and Construction Features

Structures are engineered for durability, structural integrity and straightforward maintenance throughout the vehicle lifecycle. Mechanical fixings, corrosion protection and robust subframe design are prioritised to minimise downtime and simplify repair.

  • Heavy-duty subframes designed to support high payloads and tail-lift loads
  • Construction matched to payload weight, load distribution and handling equipment
  • Design considerations for intensive multi-drop and urban environments

Lightweight and Low-Noise Options

Weight reduction and noise control measures can be specified to improve payload efficiency and support early-morning or urban deliveries where disturbance must be minimised. Material and component selection is aligned with the operating environment and compliance requirements.

  • Aluminium crossbearers to reduce unladen mass
  • Lightweight side and roof panels
  • Slimline or insulated flooring systems
  • GRP or composite roof constructions
  • Powered roller shutters for controlled operation
  • Noise-reduction flooring and insulated panels
  • PIEK-certified tail-lifts for low-noise delivery compliance
  • DVS (Direct Vision Standard) options

Teardrop Bodywork

The patented aerodynamic Teardrop body shape reduces drag compared with conventional flat-roof designs. In suitable duty cycles this can contribute to reduced fuel consumption and lower emissions.
