Flip Up Deck

Swan-Neck Step | Manual Flip-Up Deck Access

A manual flip-up deck is used on fixed double deck trailers with a step frame chassis where additional loading headroom is required at the end of the swan neck. The hinged section of deck can be lifted out of the way to temporarily increase the aperture beneath the secondary deck.

This additional clearance improves access when loading onto the swan neck area. By removing the low overhead obstruction created by the fixed upper deck, the flip-up section reduces the likelihood of operators striking their head during loading and manoeuvring.

The feature is also specified where full-height loads may otherwise catch on the underside of the secondary deck when loading onto the swan neck via a ramp. By lifting the deck section during loading, the available vertical clearance increases, allowing the load to be positioned without interference from the upper deck structure.
