A sliding roof system provides clear, open-top access for loading from above. This is particularly useful for tall, bulky, or crane-handled loads that cannot be easily managed through the rear or side of the trailer.
The roof consists of a reinforced PVC sheet which retracts along integrated tracks within the roof structure. When opened, the material concertinas neatly at one end, allowing operators to expose the full roof aperture with minimal effort. When closed, the roof provides weather protection and maintains the trailer’s structural integrity.
An optional detachable rear header is available. This allows the roof to be fully retracted beyond the rear frame, increasing the accessible opening length. The detachable header is often specified when loading via gantry or overhead crane equipment.
Sliding roof systems are widely used in sectors requiring overhead loading, such as manufacturing, timber, steel, and bulk packaging industries.
