Roof wire security mesh provides an additional physical barrier beneath the roof skin of curtainsiders and box vans, restricting unauthorised access through the roof and the possibility of moving goods through an opening in the roof skin.
How roof security mesh works
Trailer roof skins may be manufactured from GRP or aluminium and are not, in themselves, designed to prevent entry by potential thieves. Steel security mesh installed beneath the roof skin limits personnel access if an opening is made through the outer roof and restricts the possibility of goods being moved through that opening.
The steel mesh is attached to the cant rails and roof sticks and would normally extend across the entire roof span.
Additional roof protection
Although theft prevention is its primary purpose, the mesh can also provide an additional layer between the payload and the roof skin, helping to prevent items of payload from damaging the roof.
Vehicle applications
Roof wire security mesh is an optional feature for curtainsiders and box vans. It can be incorporated into the vehicle specification or retrofitted to an existing body.
