The coupling plate is fitted onto a track which allows it to slide freely from left to right. This track then fits into another track which has the function to extend it even further out towards the side of the body.

The double extension provides the driver with the ability to couple from the side of the trailer and the sliding coupling plate reduces the risk of line tangling and strain whilst in transit.
