The upper front corners of commercial vehicle bodies are particularly vulnerable to impact damage from overhanging tree branches. Standard aluminium corner cappings are typically cast and can become damaged if struck by a sufficiently large or heavy branch, leading to repair costs and vehicle downtime.
This "Iron Man" corner capping fits over an existing aluminium corner capping without increasing the overall body height, providing an additional layer of front corner protection.
The system comprises two parts: an external heavy-duty steel protection plate and an internal fixing plate designed to provide a secure fit to the existing body structure.
It can be fitted to one or both sides as part of a new build specification or added to existing bodies as a retro-fit. The protectors are straightforward to install and can be replaced if damaged.
