Don-Bur Opens New Light Vehicle Service Centre
Don-Bur has just opened a new service site which will be dedicated to the recovery, repair, servicing, diagnostics and MOTs of all light commercial vehicles.
The new 6,053 square foot site, located in Stoke-on-Trent, is now the 6th location under the trusted Don-Bur group umbrella; complementing the main manufacturing site, two HGV service sites, graphics division and the curtains & load restraint arm. It will also increase the Don-Bur mobile service capability which provides prompt, on-site attendance and reduces down time for their customer base.
The division uses the recognised Audatex cloud-based platform to provide vehicle damage assessment and repair estimates. Audatex is widely used by insurance companies which streamlines the entire process for all parties. In addition, they provide a wide range of ‘smart’ repairs.
The move follows a marked increase in enquiries for van and light commercial vehicle servicing and repairs, particularly for temperature-controlled fleets. Until recently, Don-Bur had only focussed on maintenance for a range from 7.5T rigids up to the largest 15.650m long double deck LST trailers, but opted to respond to the rising demand for van servicing which means the group now caters for the entire range of commercial vehicle needs including both light and heavy sectors.
When fully operational, the new division will have sufficient capacity to cater for all fleet requirements. Some experienced engineers from other service sites are already forming the labour cornerstone but Don-Bur are actively recruiting and training more people to bolster the exiting skill sets.
Already, the new facility has seen a large intake or work and that trend looks set to continue. Chris Griffiths, Service Director at Don-Bur said “We knew in advance that the new DBSVC division would be popular and the minute it opened, 2 blue chip temperature-controlled retail operators booked a large number of 3.5T vans with us. It was reassuring to know we’d done the right thing. “
