Don-Bur Champions Sustainability with Alignment to EUDR

news -> sustainability

Don-Bur, a UK-based leader in the design and manufacture of commercial vehicle bodywork, is proud to announce its ongoing commitment to sustainability by proactively aligning with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). While the regulation, expected to apply to large operators from December 30, 2025, does not apply to UK-based companies, Don-Bur is actively supporting its principles as part of its broader sustainability and corporate responsibility strategy.

What is the EUDR?

The EUDR is a landmark regulation introduced by the European Union to combat deforestation and promote sustainable supply chains. It mandates that products such as timber, rubber, coffee, soy, and palm oil entering the EU must be legally sourced and free from links to deforestation. Companies trading in these materials are required to provide detailed evidence of compliance, including traceability back to the origin of the raw materials.

Don-Bur’s Proactive Approach

Don-Bur’s alignment with the regulation reflects its values and includes:

  • Maintaining Comprehensive Records: Ensuring robust documentation to align purchased components with EUDR standards.
  • Strengthening Supply Chain Collaboration: Engaging with suppliers to promote EUDR compliance, fostering transparency and traceability.
  • Sustainable Sourcing Bias: Actively prioritising partnerships with suppliers who adhere to EUDR requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Submitting detailed Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) information annually to EcoVadis for independent assessment and grading, supporting Don-Bur’s drive to improve sustainability practices year on year.

David Burton, Managing Director of Don-Bur, commented:

“At Don-Bur, we are committed to taking meaningful steps toward sustainability, even when not required by law. Aligning with EUDR principles and working with EcoVadis demonstrates our dedication to maintaining a responsible and transparent supply chain. We firmly believe in continuous improvement, and our efforts reflect our ambition to lead the way in sustainable manufacturing within the commercial vehicle sector.”

By voluntarily embracing EUDR principles, Don-Bur continues to demonstrate its commitment to ethical business practices and environmental stewardship. These efforts, combined with annual CSR submissions, underline the company’s role as a responsible and forward-thinking industry leader.
